A programme to distribute exercise books among school students was conducted on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 66 Division, Brigadier Duminda Kepptiwalana at the Ghanimadam Government Tamil School in Kilinochchi on Sunday (5).
54 school children of the Ghanimadam Government Tamil School received the books, donated by the Ruhunu Publication in Colombo 11.
Teachers of the respective schools and children expressed their gratitude to the Army during a brief speech afterwards.
Lieutenant Colonel R.M.S Bandara of National Cadet Corps and Civil Affairs Officer, 661 Brigade attended as Chief Guests and senior officers, officers, other ranks, teachers, parents together with children took part in the event.
