66 Div Troops Clean Public Well & Make Drinking Water Available

66 Division troops serving in the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) cleaned up a popular drinking water well for civilians in the area, served by the 66 Division troops.

The well has been used to provide water requirements of the civilians in Punakari and Pooneryn areas but it remained polluted and not usable. It was under the control of the LTTE during the war. 

After considering the water requirement of civilians in Pooneryn area, the 66 Division troops decided to clean it and reopen this well to the public since there exists a shortage of water. 

In addition, the troops facilitated the passage for civilians to draw water, having walked across the camp premises, thus by reducing the distance.
