Troops of the 66 Division serving the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) coordinated with the ‘Vishwaparamee’ Foundation, Colombo and launched an eye clinic and distributed spectacles among needy civilians in Pooneryn area during an event organized at Sri Vigneshwaran School premises, Pooneryn on Sunday (18).
Dr. Nimal Karunasiri of ‘Vishwaparamee’ Foundation and his team voluntarily held the eye clinic and examined the eye sight of civilians who came there.
After the eye clinic, a total of 350 selected civilians received spectacles worth of Rs. 130,000.00 gratis by the ‘Vishwaparamee’ Foundation.
The programme was held under the directions of Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi and on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division.
Brigadier Charith Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division attended the inaugural occasion as the chief guest.
Members of the ‘Vishwaparamee’ Foundation, a medical team from Pooneryn Hospital, officers, other ranks and a large gathering of civilians assembled for the occasion.
