Continuing its welfare projects, the 651 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) organized an eye clinic and a donation of free spectacles for the needy people in Vellankulam on 24 October.
Colonel A.P.I. Fernando, Commander, 651 Brigade graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Jagath Pushpakumara, a donor from Colombo provided the financial assistance for the donation.
A total of 55 people were benefitted from the donation where they were selected from the eye clinic conducted by Dr. Ishanka Harsha Kumara. In addition 15 Army personnel too received spectacles under this programme.
Several officers and civilians attended the event.
