Troops in the 65 Division organized a sports tournament including several sports games during June 16- 26 July with the intention of enhancing the spirit among the corps serving in the 65 Division on the instructions of the General Officer Commanding at 65 Division.
The preliminary round of the Badminton tournament was held during 16-23 July with the participation of 10 Badminton teams. During the tournament, 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) badminton team and 1 Gajaba Regiment (GR) team were qualified for the final level and the 10 SLLI emerged the Championship of the Badminton tournament.
The championship of the Basketball tournament was won by 65 Division team defeating the 19 SLLI team where 12 Army teams played.
Meanwhile, 11 GR players won the Elle championship beating15 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR).
Colonel K.M.R Abeysinghe, Commander, 651 Brigade graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with senior officers, officers and other ranks witnessed the finals of the tournament.
