The state-of-the-art ‘Nena Saviya Information Technology Center’, expected to improve IT knowledge of all Army personnel serving the 65 Division Headquarters in Thunukkai, Mallawi area, was inaugurated on Monday (5) during a simple ceremony.
Major General Sarath Weerawardena, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 65 Division, together with several of his senior officers opened the new IT laboratory which also facilitates other auxiliary services, such as photocopying, book binding, Internet, etc.
To coincide with the opening of this IT laboratory, a workshop on ‘MS Word Module’ commenced in the premises for 12 Junior Officers on the same day on the directions of the GOC.
Establishment of this facility inside the Division Headquarters premises would cut down time and cost for Army personnel as far as such above-mentioned requirements are concerned.
Senior officers and Other Ranks in the 65 Division participated at the opening ceremony.
