Troops of the 65 and 66 Divisions serving under the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) joined hands together to contribute to a coastal area cleaning project to be in line with the ongoing International Coast Cleaning drive.
Troops covered coastal areas in Kilinochchi during September 21-23 and cleaned the beach areas in a Shramadana (self-help) programme.
Approximately one hundred military personnel and civilians in the area jointly attended the project and covered the coastal belt in Vallaipadu, Wettakadu, Kiranchi Shivapuram, Thewanpiddi and Nachchikuda areas.
To coincide with the same project, the SFHQ-KLN carried out an awareness campaign too in the area.
