64 Division-organized Tamil Course Ends with Certificate Awarding Ceremony

The certificate-awarding ceremony for 25 Army personnel who followed a 4-month long basic Tamil language course for the best interest of soldiers serving the 64 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) ended on Friday (4) at the 643 Brigade Headquarters auditorium in Oddusudan, Mullaittivu.

The course, a proposal of Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division continued from 1 March to 4 May on all seven days of the week under the supervision of 643 Brigade Commander.

Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division as the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony held a brief speech and gave away certificates to all those 25 soldiers who effectively concluded the course. The ceremony, held at the 643 Brigade Headquarters, Oddusudan was attended by many Senior Officers, including Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers under the 64 Division.

Troops of the 64 Division would be benefited largely following this knowledge of Tamil since they move about in areas where Tamil language is widely spoken.
