To coincide with the Poson Poya day, troops of the 621 Brigade in Welioya organized several events at the Brigade Headquarters premises on Sunday (19).
The programme included the opening of a new Bodhi Prakaraya, conduct of Poson Bakthi Gee, a Dansela of rice and ice cream and display of Poson lanterns.
Brigadier A. Athla Kodippili, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 62 Division, attended the inaugural occasion as the chief guest at the invitation of Colonel H. M. N. N Herath, Commander, 621 Brigade.
Government officials and about eight thousand civilians in nearby areas participated in the events.
