A medical clinic was organized by the 62 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) in coordination with the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine (SLCMM) for underprivileged families in the general area of Welioya on Saturday (14) at Gajabapura School premises in Gajabapura.
Around 1086 civilians covering Gajabapura, Monarawewa, Mayawewa, Ethawetunuwewa, Nikawewa, Janakapura, Kiriibbanwewa, Kalyanipura, Sapumaltenna, Sampathnuwara, Sampathgama, Namalpura and Parakramapura areas participated at the medical clinic.
Representing the Sri Lanka College of Military Medicine, 11 Specialists, 24 doctors and 95 Medical assistants with the assistance of Officers and soldiers of the 62 Division, 621 Brigade, 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry conducted the medical clinic at Welioya.
Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General Army Health Services and Chairman, SLCMM provided assistance to conduct this medical campaign together with the assistance of tri services.
General Officer Commanding 62 Division, Brigadier L.A.N.S Wanigasinghe, Commanding Officer, 14 (V) SLLI also participated at the event.
