An elaborate display of martial arts, comprised of Wrestling, Judo, Boxing, Karate, Wushu, Taekwondo and locally-recognized ‘Angam Pora’ staged on the same platform for the first time in the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) area to coincide with the 4th anniversary of the 62 Division on 15 October, robbed the attention of all those who gathered to witness the spectacle.
At the invitation of the General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The high-spirited and exciting show reflected the skills and innate abilities as well as the knack for such sports, inherent among both officers and other ranks in the Army who displayed their dazzling talents before a distinguished gathering of all General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and Civilians who have been invited to the show.
Award of Championship trophies to those who excelled in respective sports by the Chief Guest and others culminated the commemoration activities of the 62 Division Headquarters.
