62 Div &;amp; 622 Brigade Coordinate Donation Programmes

With the financial support of Mr. Ranjith Rathnayake and Mr. Nishantha of Sandalankawa, troops serving the 622 Brigade of the 62 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) organized an alms-giving Pinkama to 50 monks, pregnant mothers and villagers in the 622 Brigade area on Sunday (26).

67 pregnant mothers during the event received nutritious foods and gift parcels and more than 500 villagers were provided with lunch during the day.

General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, 622 Brigade Commander, Civil Coordination Officers and villagers attended the occasion.               

On the same day, another donation programme organized by the Ministry of Defence was held with the coordination of the Chief Incumbent of Arisimale Temple in Pulmudai.

During the donation, Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim students of Pulmudai area received school accessories to value of Rs. 800/= each.

General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, 622 Brigade Commander, Students and Parents attended the occasion.        

In the meantime, Lions Club and Maha Bodhi Society, offered help to conduct a medical clinic for villagers of Helambawewa in Weli-Oya and nearby villagers on Wednesday (15).

350 villagers participated in the clinic at Helambawewa Public Hall medical treatment and medicines to the value of Rs.350, 000/- was distributed during the clinic.

During the day, 03 students from low income families got 03 push bicycles each valued of Rs.12,000/= and a disable person received a wheelchair worth of  Rs. 14,000/= in the same area.

Gift parcels including school accessories were distributed among 25 kids of Helambawewa pre-school and a new TV set was gifted to it. To purchase raw materials, a donation of Rs.25, 000/- was given to civilians in the same village who are engaged in the production of Cement Bricks.
