61 Division Marks Anniversary Offering Lunch & Incentives to Children’s Home

Troops of the 61 Division Headquarters in Vavuniya organized a one more community welfare project to distribute essentials among orphans at Anpakam Hindu Children’s home in Veppankulam, Vavuniya on account of the 10th Anniversary of the 61 Division on Saturday (26).

This community oriented project was organized on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, Major General Shantha Dissanayake together with all Officers and Other Ranks of the 61 Division.

During the ceremony a lunch treat was offered to resident children and essentials including soaps, washing powder, tooth brushes, sugar, tea powder, etc were also distributed among the children.

During the programme, 46 children and 16 members received these incentives.

The head of the children’s home Mrs Jayakaran and her staff took part in the event and thanked the Army for the generosity.
