5th Anniversary of SFHQ-Cen Marked Prioritizing Religious Observances

Giving prominence to religious ceremonies, the Security Forces Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-Cen) celebrated its 5th anniversary with a series of events on the directions of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central (SF-Cen) during 12-16 March.

The anniversary celebrations kicked off with a special ‘Pooja’ at Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), Kandy on 12 March invoked blessings on the SFHQ-Cen and the Army as one more segment of the anniversary project.

Afterwards, a special Hindu ‘Pooja’ got underway at Kataragama Devalaya premises on the following day (13 March).

On 16 March, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by troops serving the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) saluted Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, SF-Cen at the Rendezvous Parade square premises, adding military formalities to the anniversary programme.

After receipt of the salute, Major General Rukmal Dias was invited to plant a ‘Sadun’ sapling in the premises as a token of memory.

A group photograph and a customary troop address followed by an All-Rank lunch in the SFHQ-Cen the same day culminated the day’s programme.
