One Officer and twenty Other Ranks of the 593 Brigade of the 59 Division under the Security Force Headquarters, Mullaittivu (SFHQ- MLT) on Monday (13), took immediate steps to extinguish a fire that was spreading fast in a line of fishermen’s huts in the 83 Grama Seva sector near the beach in Chemmalai.
Although the fire had gutted 6 huts before the troops arrived, the troops managed to contain the spread within a few minutes.
