59 Division Troops Learn About Dangerous Drugs

A programme to create awareness on ‘Drug Addiction and Prevention,’ organized by the 59 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) got underway on Thursday (2) with the participation of more than 600 Army personnel.

The gathering was educated on illegal drugs used in Sri Lanka and its harmful social, economic and health aspects. Resource persons Mr Chamara Pradeep Karunaratne, Educational and Information Officer, National Dangerous Drug Control Board (NDDCB) and Ms Priyadarshani Ratnayake, Educational and Information Officer, NDDCB contributed to the sessions.

A total of 25 Officers and 580 Other Rankers representing the SFHQ-MLT, Forward Maintenance Area - MLT and the 59 Division took part in the timely programme, conducted on the directions of Major General Ruwan Wanigasuriya, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division.
