A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour parade in conformity with military traditions saluted Major General W.L.P.W Perera, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, when he upon elevation of his rank arrived at the 59 Division HQ premises in Nanthikadal on Tuesday (25).
He was invited to plant a Mango sapling inside the camp premises as a symbol of memory and afterwards he addressed the troops present at the location, including Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers.
The day’s event culminated with refreshments during which the day’s protagonists took time off to share a couple of views with all ranks.
