586 More Positive Cases Reported - NOCPCO

As of this morning (30), a total of 586 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 4 of them are foreigners (3 sea farers from Nepal and one Sri Lankan sea farer quarantined at Habaraduwa Police Building QC). All other 582 were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (30), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 6,313 Of them, 1041 are factory employees and other 5,272 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees.

To-day (30), the flight UL 455 from Japan with 18 passengers has arrived in Colombo. All those passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

Within the day (30), 584 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 71 persons are from Norochchol QC, 5 persons from Hotel Green Paradise QC, 4 persons from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 7 persons from Hotel Jetwing Beach QC, 161 person from Punani QC, 125 persons from Bingiriya Teachers' Training School QC, 97 persons from Pasdunrata Teachers’ Training School QC, 5 persons from Waskaduwa Citrus QC, 41 persons from MRS Diyatalawa QC, 23 persons from MSTS Diyatalawa QC and 45 persons from 1 GW Diyatalawa QC.

To-date, 59,314 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (30), 6,463 persons in 64 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (29), 11,773 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 490, 563.

By 6.00 this morning (30), 67 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. All of them are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-infected employees who were in quarantine at QCs. (Ends)Running sport media | Air Jordan
