57 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) giving pride of place to a series of multi-religious observances, marked its 12th anniversary during 15 February - 2 March on the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya.
A special Mass at St Theresa’s Church (15 Feb), a Hindu prayer at Kandaswamy Kovil (20 Feb), Islamic prayers at Salam Jumma Mosque (22 Feb) and a Pirith chanting plus an alms-giving to the monks (1 March) brought the religious segments to culmination.
The ceremonials on the anniversary day (1 March) began with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented to the General Officer Commanding by 3 Battalion Gajaba Regiment.
Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers and Other Ranks participated in the anniversary arrangements.
Subsequently, the day’s Chief Guest appeared for a group photograph with officers and divisional staff.
