57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) celebrated its 11th Anniversary with elaborate programmes on the directions of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Division on Monday (26).
The anniversary celebrations kicked off with a special Islamic prayer session, held at Muslim Jumma Mosque, Kilinochchi on 20 February.
Afterwards, a special Hindu ‘Pooja’ got underway at Kandasamy Kovil - Kilinochchi on the following day (21 February) after a special Christian service took place at St. Theresa’s Church in Kilinochchi.
A special ‘Bodhi Pooja’ at Lumbini Viharaya, Kilinochchi Friday (23 February) evening invoked blessings on the Division & the Army as one more segment of the anniversary project.
An alms-giving, arranged for 250 children at Maha Deva Ashrama, Kilinochchi on 25 February was attended by many officers.
On 26 February, a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by troops serving the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry saluted Major General Vijitha Ravipriya at the Divisional Headquarters premises, adding military formalities to the anniversary programme.
An All-Rank lunch in the 57 Division Headquarters the same day culminated the day’s programme.
