Troops serving 57 Division under the Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on account of the ‘Day for Child War Victims’ (6 Jan), offered lunch to 345 orphaned children, resident at Mahadeva Ashram Children’s Home, Kilinochchi after launching a cleaning programme in the premises.
Army personnel of 5 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (5 SLCMP) and 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (7 SLLI) actively supported the project and took part in the lunch treat, together with several senior officers.
In addition, 22 staff members at the orphanage were also entertained to lunch at the same occasion. Mr T. Rasanayagam, Manager, Mahadeva Ashram Children’s Home, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division and a few more officers were present during the project.
