Troops serving in the 57 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) launched a Dengue Epidemic Prevention programme in parallel with the ongoing island-wide National Dengue Prevention Campaign during 10-11 November 2017 covering Kilinochchi and Paranthan areas after many cases were reported.
A total of 50 troops from the 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and the 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), together with Kilinochchi Police, several medical officers and Public Health Inspectors contributed to the awareness programme.
During this programme, houses, government institutes, private sector and religious places, schools and other public places were inspected by the members of the programme and the people were educated on Dengue epidemic and its spread.
