57, 65 & 66 Division Troops Help Bring Smiles & Joy to KLN Civilians

57 Division, 65 Division and 66 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters-Kilinochchi with the intention of entertaining the public in their respective areas while re-endorsing security arrangements at the highest level staged separate Mega Musical Evenings during June 21-22 at Dharapuram playground, Mallavi Central College grounds and Pooneryn Fort premises.

The projects were also aimed at promoting ties of goodwill and reconciliation among the public and the Army personnel in the area. Both events included K-9 Shows, Musical Show, displays of fireworks and band displays.

The event in Dharmapuram commenced with the K-9 Kennel show of Sri Lanka Army Commandos' K-9 Unit and stunned the spectators with their outstanding performances. Subsequently, the band display conducted by Sri Lanka Engineers Regimental band, the fireworks display performed by 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops, the Musical show tuned by 6 SLSR Beat Group thrilled a record gathering of more than 600 spectators.

The event was well organized by 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard troops on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya and under the guidance of Brigadier A.S Hewawitharana, General Officer Commanding of 57 Division. Colonel D.M.P.P Dasanayake, Commander 572 Brigade closely supervised the whole arrangement.

Meanwhile, one more K-9 Kennel show under the directions of Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding 65 Division got underway at Mallavi Central College ground in Mallavi during morning hours on Saturday (22).

13 dogs in the Sri Lanka Army Commandos' K9 Unit displayed their performances and stunts during the show. This event was organized by 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 17 (V) SLLI under the guidelines given by the 653 Brigade Commander. Nearly 1500 people including school children witnessed it and people paid their gratitude to the Army since that was a rare opportunity for them.

Meanwhile, the popular K- 9 Dog show and Musical Evening organized by the 66 Infantry Division, themed ‘Pooneryn Musical Night’ got underway at Pooneryn Fort Premises on Friday (21) evening.

At the invitation of the General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier M.D Wijesundara, Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding 65 Division, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with Senior Officers and Officers. Religious dignitaries, government officials and Police officers also participated as invitees.

The event commenced with the K9 Dog show, coloured with their other outstanding performances. Enthralling performances of ‘Saptha Ranga’ dancing group, melodies of the music group of the Civil Security Department Beat Group and local Artist, Darshani (Shakthi Superstar) thrilled the audience while a display of fireworks added colour. latest Running | jordan Release Dates
