A community service project was organized by the troops, serving the 56 Division on the supervision of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W).
Under the project, over 800 needy families were given away dry food packets, school accessories, etc. Ven Puswelle Sri Gunananda Thero, Chief Incumbent, Jayakadulena Raja Maha Vihara, Ven Nahiniwela Sri Piyadassi Thero, Incumbent, Gangaramaya, Kandy, Ven Adanwalle Sri Sumangala Thero and Ven Sri Buddha Rakkitha Thero, Incumbent, Ridi Viharaya contributed to the charity and were present at the venue.
Members of Malwathu Temples, Brigadier I. P Ranasingha, Commander, 56 Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Rankers participated in the event.
