The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC), 55 Division, Brigadier M.A.S.K Muhandiram assumed duties as the 21st GOC of the 55 Division Headquarters in Jaffna on Wednesday (12) at its Headquarters premises.
A formal Guard Turnout greeted the new GOC at the entrance after he was welcomed. He later on inspected the parade presented in his honour before he had a meeting with senior officers and addressed all ranks. He also added memories by planting a king coconut sapling in the premises before joining an all rank tea party.
He placed his signature for an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office as senior officers looked on.
Senior Officers, Brigade Commanders, respective battalion commanders, Officers and Other Ranks attended the ceremony.
