55 Div Organized Clinics Treat More Than 300 Civilians


More than 300 males, females and children in Vettalakerni area in the 55 Division, Jaffna, sought medical assistance from an Army organized mobile clinic for eye ailments and physical illness at Vettalakerni Parameshwari Maha Vidyalaya on Sunday (14).

Troops of the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard serving 553 Brigade Headquarters under 55 Division, took the initiatives in this connection on the directions given by Brigadier B.H.M.A Wijesinghe, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division.

Eye Surgeons and Medical Officers from Point Pedro Government Hospital, together with the Army Medical Officer at the 55 Division Medical Centre, examined those civilians who approached both mobile clinics throughout the day.

Medical Officers, Dr D Vinodan, Dr Anton Sudaharan, Dr (Mrs) S Suranuda, Pharmacists, Mr R.B.A Bandara and Mr B Prasad and Mr T Mahendran, Medical Assistant, together with Army Medical Officers conducted the clinics.

19 Sri Lanka National Guard troops served refreshments to all those who attended the clinics.
