Cricketers in all Divisions of the Security Force Headquarters Wanni (SFHQ-W) competed among one another to claim the cricket Championship during the tournament, held at 4 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) play ground, Anuradapura on Thursday (7).
Following directions given by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, it was organized to encourage young Army cricketers who could shine in the future.
Major General Boniface Perera graced as the chief guest in the final encounter. General Officers Commanding of 21, 54, 56, 61 and 62, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, officers and other ranks also were there to watch the proceedings.
Seven teams participated in the cricket tournament, including the SFHQ-W team and Forward Maintenance Area (FMA) teams. 54 Division cricketers won the Championship while Lance Corporal T.M.T.S Manamendra of 25 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) was adjudged the Man of the Match.
