Soldiers serving 523 Brigade in 52 Division under Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) organized a mega Poson Zone with the co-operation of Sasun Senasuna Foundation of Boralesgamuwa at Chavakachcheri court complex during June 23 - 24 to mark the Poson festival.
Under the same programme soldiers organized a mammoth Dansela in Nunavil area, which provided tea and meals to more than 12,000 civilians in the area.
Meanwhile, more than 200 students in low-income families of Chavakachcheri received lunch and exercise books from the troops. During the same evening troops decorated the Chavakachcheri town area with Poson lanterns.
Clergy of all faiths, Brigadier Anura Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding 52 Division, 523 Brigade Commander and many other senior officers were present during those occasions.
