515 Brigade Troops Provide Water, Transport & Medical Aid to Devotees

Troops of the 515 Brigade under the 51 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) on the directions of Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, Commander Security Forces -Jaffna (SF-J) provided all possible facilities for conduct of ‘Thaipusa Thiruvila’ poojas (offerings) at Myliddy Kannagi Amman, Murugan and Kulathadi Amman temples on Thursday (09).

Jaffna Commander was among the devotees who took part in these poojas, together with several Hindu officers and other rankers after temple chieftains invited the SFHQ-J to receive blessings of those special occasions.

Troops provided transport, drinking water, emergency medical services and other basic infrastructure facilities to hundreds of devotees who flocked to those places of worship to participate in the religious observances.

Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, Commander, SF- J, Colonel Sanath Aluvihare, Commander 515 Brigade and Lieutenant Colonel Harischandra Mayasinghe, Chief Coordinating Officer for Civil Affairs, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna and several other officers attended those respective poojas separately.
