Showing goodwill towards student community and giving one more round of assistance to overcome transport hardships of Jaffna students in remote areas of the Jaffna peninsula, 513 Brigade of the 51 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) with patronage, extended by Lawyers Association in Aluthkade Magistrate Courts at the request of the 513 Brigade gifted a stock of 50 new push bicycles to the most deserving students during a ceremony, headed by Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna on Sunday (10).
Organized and initiated by Colonel Kanishka Heiyyanthuduwa, Commander, 513 Brigade under the supervision of Major General Roshan Seneviratne, General Officer Commanding, 51 Division of the SFHQ-J, the distribution ceremony was attended by a gathering of teachers, parents and selected recipients in addition to the day’s Chief Guest, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi in the presence of Major General Roshan Seneviratne.
In the past 2018, SFHQ-J on humanitarian grounds managed to give away a few more than 800 push bicycles among students following initiatives taken by Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi.
