5 SLSC Troops Renovate Late War Hero’s Home & Vest it Back in His Parents

Showing their gratitude and paying tribute to the memory of one of their late War Heroes, Lance Corporal E.R.P.K Edirimanna of 5 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) Regiment, 5SLSC troops offered their technical expertise and completely renovated the residence of their late fellow-soldier in Kegalle and re-vested it recently in his parents.

The War Hero lost his life in a terrorist attack in Vishwamadu on 09 February 2009 while engaged in operational duties. Lieutenant Colonel D.M.I.S Bandara, Commanding Officer, 5 SLSC during a brief warming ceremony, held at the venue formally left it with the parents again after completion of repairs.

5 SLSC commenced this project on the directions of the Colonel Commandant Major General Prabhath Dematanpitiya with financial support and other assistance from the SLSC Regimental Centre. The renovation work was completed within 12 days due to sheer dedication and commitment of 5 SLSC troops.
