With the intention of promoting mutual understanding and goodwill among Army personnel serving the 22 Division Headquarters, the final round of the volleyball tournament organized by the 22 Division Headquarters got underway on Saturday (30) with large gathering of Army personnel attending.
In the final round, 5 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) team secured the championship trophy.
During the prize giving ceremony, Lance Bombardier, W.M.A.P Wijesinghe of 5 SLA won the best attacker trophy while the Gunner A.V.A.L.M Amarasinghe of 5 SLA secured the best player trophy and the Gunner S.G.D.M Kumarasinghe of 5 SLA received the best setter trophy respectively.
Major General Kumudu Perera, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 22 Division distributed trophies, certificates and medals to the winners.
General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, officers and other ranks witnessed the event.
