420 Fully Recovered Sailors Have So far Left Hospitals- NOCPCO

Two more individuals upon completion of quarantine process at Hotel Blue Waters Quarantine Centre (QC) are ready to leave for their homes after conduct of PCR tests today (05) with Quarantine Certificates, a statement issued by Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe this morning (05) on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

By today (05), a total of 11,709 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QC have left for their homes.

As of now, 5,240 persons are still in quarantine in 45 island-wide QCs, run by tri services.

Other than COVID-19 positive cases reported last evening (4), 7 more positive cases were reported this morning (5), of them 6 are heroic sailors and an expatriate . In the past 24 hours, (04 June 6.00 am to 05June 6.00 am) 49 more COVID-19 positive cases were reported. Among them were 03 from India, 02 from Bangladesh, 1 from Dubai and 36 heroic sailors. By today (05), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 836 in total. Of them, 420 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals. A group of 416 infected sailors are still under treatment in hospitals as of now, the statement ended.
