42 More Potential Army Retirees Receive NVQ Certificates

The Centre for Army Vocational Training (CAVT) at Kalaoya, Saliyawewa awarded certificates to 42 more Army personnel who successfully completed tradesman courses on aluminum work, domestic wiring and repair of electronic and electric appliances during a brief ceremony at the CAVT on Friday (21).

The CAVT with the support of resource personnel of the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority (SLVTA) conducted these courses which qualified them to receive the well-recognized National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level - 3.

The 6 month-long CAVT course recognizes the course attendees’ basic competence in the trade and equally endorses their completion of the course to suit vocational standards, laid down by the SLVTA.

Brigadier H.E.M.R.B.T Hathnagoda, Commandant, CAVT, Mr S Wimalasiri, SLVTA Officer In Charge of Courses at Anuradhapura Branch and the CAVT Chief Instructor awarded those certificates to the Army trainees who are scheduled to go on retirement shortly.
