3(V) SLAWC Organizes ‘Suwanari Medical Clinic’ for Women

In a joint project, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC), Ministry of Women and Child Affairs and Sri Lanka Women's Bureau on account of the International Women's Day recently held the ‘Suwanari Medical Clinic’ at the 3(V) SLAWC Headquarters in Dehiaththakandiya with the support of the SFHQ-East.

More than 50 woman soldiers and female civil employees were examined for NCDs and other diseases during the clinic before medical consultations were prescribed.

At the invitation of Major Chamari Wijethilake, Commanding Officer, 3(V) SLAWC, Medical Officer of Health (MOH) at Dehiaththakandiya, together with a medical team screened the inmates in the camp. Coordination of the project was done by the Ministry and the Women's Bureau as a milestone to mark the International Women's Day.

Assistant Director to Ministry of Women and Child Affairs Mrs. Seetha Karunarathne, Assistant Director, Sri Lanka Women's Bureau Mrs. Dulakshi Fernando and Divisional Secretary for Dehiaththakandiya Mrs. M.W Shiromani attended the inaugural stage of the event.
