3 (V) SLAWC Soldiers Entertain Children & Adults at Polonnaruwa Perakum Home

Woman soldiers including Lady Officers of the 3 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), following an initiative suggested by Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, Commander, Security Forces - East, entertained the inmates at Pulathisipura Perakum Home for Children and Adults by providing a sumptuous dinner and music to them as one of their goodwill projects on Wednesday (7).

The project, launched under the command of Major Chamari Wijethilaka, Commanding Officer, 3 (V) SLAWC, included the entertainment by Army Calypso Band and dancing troupes of the Army.

All the inmates joined hands with visiting woman soldiers and enjoyed appealing music, dancing and singing together before the dinner was served to the inmates.

Ven Demunnawe Uparathana Thero, Deputy Chief at Polonnaruwa Thamankaduwa Navanagaraya Vidyaloka Temple, Ven Kaduruwela Dhammapala Thero, North Central Province Adhikarana Sanga Nayaka and Chief incumbent at Kaduruwela Jayanthi Temple, Commander, Security Forces – East, Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, the warden, Mrs. A M Pathma Gangodathenna, Brigadier Administration and Quartering (BAQ), SFHQ–E, Colonel Chanaka Weragoda, Lieutenant Colonel Thilak Ranasingha, Chief Civil Affairs Officer and several Senior Officers were associated with the day's programme.
