25 Army Personnel Complete SLBC Course on Compering

A 32-day long course on public compering for Army personnel, designed by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) at the request of the Directorate of Media of the Army, ended on Monday (24) at the SLBC auditorium during a brief ceremony.

25 Army personnel of all Regiments, keen on learning the techniques of stage compering and public speaking, followed the course, titled ‘Production & Mass Communication Certificate Course’ which covered a wide assortment of subjects, such as the art of announcing, microphone and technology, art of documentary presentation, art of radio language and announcing, art of presenting commercials, information gathering, writing and editing, anchoring and news reading, presenting of live programmes, correct use of parlance and grammar, voice training, radio program production, etc.

The formal closing ceremony at the SLBC was attended by Mr Erananda Hettiarachchi, Director General, SLBC, Major General G.V Ravipriya, Director General, Army Training, Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne, Director Media, Mr Thilina Samarasuriya, Director, SLBC Training and Foreign Relations, Ms Thushari Welagedara, Additional Director, SLBC, Brigadier Manoj Lamahewa, Colonel Media at Directorate of Media and several staff Officers of the Directorate of Media.
