UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP of 234 Brigade, the Officer Commanding of the Town Sector II (Batticaloa), Captain R M J B Rajapaksha handed over one computer, a stock of sports items, books and dry rations and other educational equipment for the use of children in Arundappanee Children’s Home, Poonachchimunai on 6th December 2009.
The items were received by Rev. Father S. Puvanendran, Administrator of the Children’s Home. There are parentless 9 boys and 26 girls with others coming from low-income group families, residing in this Children’s Home.

In the meantime, 234 Brigade Headquarters with the sponsorship of 12th Battalion of Sri Lanka Artillery, organized a donation received from “Sansara Seva” organization, Rajagiriya to donate educational equipment and school uniforms to school children of Tamil Mix School, Valachchenai on 7th December 2009.
About 225 students including 113 boys and 112 girls are to be benefited from this donation. It was coordinated by Captain B M D Abeyruwan and the items donated included school uniforms, pens, pencils, colored pastol boxes, erasers, pencil sharpners, school bags and two bundles of type-writer papers for each class. In addition, an umbrella to each teacher was also donated on the occasion.
Ten members of “Sansara Seva” Organization with its President Ms Theja Siriwardane, officers and other ranks from 234 Brigade were present on the occasion.
