Troops of the 233 Brigade under the Security Force Headquarters - East carried out a Dengue prevention programme, together with civil authorities on Saturday (8) covering the general area of Vakarai.
This programme was conducted in parallel with the ongoing ‘National Dengue Prevention Week’.
During the programme, 233 Brigade troops together with Police personnel and civilians cleared a 10 km-long patch along the Batticoloa and Trincomalee road and collected garbage.
233 Brigade Commander, Divisional Secretary for Vakarai, officials of the Vakarai Police station and Grama Niladharies of the area also joined the programme.
