231 Brigade Troops Clean School Premises at Batticaloa

Members of the Army, attached to the 231 Brigade in Batticaloa in response to a request of the School Development Society of the St. Michael’s College, Batticaloa recently carried out a cleaning project inside the school premises in the wake of worsening ‘Dengue’ epidemic in the area.

More than 100 troops of the 231 Brigade under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), commanded by Brigadier N.D.S.P Niwunhella, 231 Brigade Commander took part in the assignment that helped the area rid of the threat of ‘Dengue’. Troops of the 10 Gajaba Regiment and 11 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment actively contributed to the project with the blessings of Major General H.W.S.D.B Pananwala, General Officer Commanding, 23 Division.

Towards the completion of the Community Project, school authorities presented a symbolic memento to Brigadier N.D.S.P Niwunhella as appreciation.
