23 Division & Its under Command Brigades Join Army Day Commemoration Events

23 Division troops with Brigades under command to the Division under the guidance given by Major General H.W.S.D.B Pananwala, General Officer Commanding (GOC), launched a set of programmes on account of the 68th Army Anniversary.

Giving helping hand to the Thilahavathiyar Home for Girls at Kathiraveli, 23 Division troops using their collected money, bought book racks and a stock of stationery for them. A special lunch was also served to them as another addition to the day’s programme.

In the meantime, 231 Brigade troops under the 23 Division organized a blood donation campaign and a Shramadana Campaign to clean the premises at Vipulananda Home for Elders. Those inmates were also provided a lunch treat and all those inmates later on were examined in a mobile medical clinic, organized by the troops.

232 Brigade troops also conducted a Shramadana campaign at Kuawadi Home for Elders and entertained the adults to snacks and tea as a contribution to the Army anniversary agenda.

Another blood donation campaign was launched by the troops of the 233 Brigade on account of the Army day. The programmes came to an end with a Bodhi Pooja Pinkama with the participation of all Officers and Other ranks.
