224 Brigade Troops Join Carols with Students

Members of the Catholic community, students, kids and Army troops of the 224 Brigade Headquarters of the 22 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) got together and sang Christmas Carols during a special mass at Muttur Sacred Heart Church on Thursday (28).

More than 100 school students attending the programme sang Christmas Carols in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages as a symbol of goodwill and harmony.

The programme was organized with the intention of promoting reconciliation, religious amity and peace among all ethnic communities during Christmas season, following guidelines given by Major General Aruna Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 22 Division.

Rev Fr J Sudarshan, Parish Priest, several Catholic priests, Colonel K.H.K Kottawaththa, Brigade Commander, 224 Brigade and Major M.A.C.P Marasinghe, Commanding Officer, 24 Sri Lanka National Guard attended the event as distinguished guests.

At the conclusion of Carols, all participants in the Choirs were awarded gifts by the 224 Brigade Commander.
