22 Division Contributes for Trincomalee Independence Day Event

Around 150 tri-servicemen (Army, Navy and Air Force), Police and Civil Security Department personnel contributed to successful conduct of the provincial Independence commemoration at Trincomalee under the supervision of the 22 Division and respective Security Forces authorities on Sunday (4) at Fort Fredric in Trincomalee.

Army troops joined the ceremonial parade and presented a ‘Martial Art’ (Angampora) display during the second part of the itinerary after flag hoisting and other formalities taken place.

Trincomalee District Secretary Mr. N.A.A Puspakumara and his Staff extended their gratitude for the Army and appreciated assistance to make the ceremony a success.

Religious Dignitaries, Chief Secretary of Eastern Provincial Council Mr. D.M.S Abayagunawardana, District Secretary for Trincomalee Mr. N.A.A Puspa Kumara, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Aruna Jayasekara, Senior DIG Eastern Province, Mr. Kapila Jayasekaa, 221 Brigade Commander, Brigader K.P.S Premalal, DIG Trincomalee, Mr. Nimal Perera, Heads of the Provincial and District Departments, Senior Officers from Tri Services, Police and Civil Security Department and a large gathering of distinguished invitees attended the event.
