22 Division troops extending their goodwill and assistance for the smooth conduct of the annual Kovil Pooja at Sri Thirukkai Ambal Hindu Temple on the Orr´s Hill, Trincomalee carried out several projects.
On Tuesday (19) prior to the event, the troops in a Shrarmadana (self-help) cleaned the Kovil surroundings, together with devotees in the area following guidelines given by Major General Nevil Weerasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division.
On the final Pooja day, troops provided refreshments to more than 350 devotees during the ceremony and assisted them to make the event a success.
The Chief Priest, Siriasiri Srikantha Kurukkal and devotees extended their gratitude to the Army and appreciated the assistance.
