21 Division Volleyball Team Carries Championship

Wanni Inter-Division Volleyball Championship Tournament that got underway at the 56 Division volleyball court of the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), drew to a close on Sept 30 with the finals, played between teams of the 21 Division and the Forward Maintenance Area (North Central).
 
The tournament, organized by the 62 Division of the SFHQ-W on the directions of its General Officer Commanding, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, saw another exhibition match, played between Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) before the Championship award ceremony, took place in the presence of the Chairman, Army Volleyball Association, Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W who was invited to watch the finals as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the 62 Division General Officer Commanding.          
 
After a close fight, the 21 Division Volleyball team clinched the Inter Division Volleyball Championship – 2014 after defeating the Forward Maintenance Area team.
 
Private A.A.P.K Amarasinghe of 21 Division was adjudged the Best all Round Player of the tournament while Private I.P.K.S Illangakoon, secured the Best Attacker trophy of the tournament. Private C.S.K Chandrathilaka was awarded the Best Defender award.
 
Major General P.U.S Vithanage, GOC, 21 Division, Brigadier D.S Weerasekara, Commander, FMA – North Central, senior officers, officers, volleyball fans, other ranks and school children in the area were present at the final event.
