Carefully selected 318 students of underprivileged families, still continuing their studies in eleven remote schools in Moneragala district on Wednesday (5) received school stationery, accessories, shoes and other sports equipment as free gifts from the Capital City Rotary Club. It was coordinated by the 121 Brigade of the 12 Division in Hambantota.
9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 18 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops in close cooperation with the donors did the coordination part and participated in the distribution of those educational accessories among the students during simple ceremonies, held separately at Yudaganawa Raja Maha Viharaya premises and the Vijayabahu Maha Vidyalaya in Okkampitiya, Moneragala.
The occasion was attended by principals in recipient schools, teachers, parents and several senior officers of the Army.
