12 Division Troops Assist ‘Pahan Pooja’

Troops of the 12 Division under the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) offered their assistance to the conduct of the 84,000 Pahan Pooja Pinkama (oil lamps) at Kirivehera sacred place, headed by the former President, Ms Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga on 31 December.

In response to a request made by Mr Justin Nawarathne, Director of the former President’s Office to the Commander of the Army, Major General P. U. S Vithanage, Commander, Security Forces-Central (SF-C) instructed his troops to assist the event.

9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 3 Sri Lanka National Guard troops thus helped in this regard.
