12 Division Troops Assist Kataragama Pilgrims Cooking Meals

A group of nearly 100 personnel of the Army and civil cooks gave their fullest support to make the annual Dansela (free eatery) conducted in the Dewala premises on account of the annual Kataragama Esala Perahera Season. (July 5-19)

These troops from the 12 Division Headquarters at the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-C) including 49 Army cokks and 17 civil cooks contributed to the success of the project where rice and curry were distributed among the devotees attending the religious festival.

Offer of the free meals to these devotees assisted them since some of the devotees who had came on ‘Pada Yathra’ from deep north and east were relieved very much as a result of these donation of meals, prepared by the Army - Commanding Officers and the nearly 100 soldiers took part in the heritorious project.
