In order to find out facilities, provided to temporary camp sites where pilgrims stay overnight while conducting their ‘Paada Yathra’ (foot pilgrimage), bound for Kataragama sacred shrine, Major General Nishantha Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division on the instruction of Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces - Central went to those camp sites in the 12 Division area and spoke to relevant Army troops attending to those devotees on Monday (9).
23 Gajaba Regiment (GR) troops under the 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) with the coordination of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya, put up plastic water tanks and provided temporary huts, first aid, medicine and all other needs of the pilgrims.
