Troops of 12 Division in Hambanthota under the Security Force Headquarters-Central coordinated the distribution of dry ration packs among 100 needy families on Thursday (20) at Weerawila Primary School, Tissamaharama following sponsorship, provided by one Mr K.S Kandarajah, a philanthropist in the area.
Major General Deepthi Jayathilake, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division gave guidelines for troops to coordinate the arrangement after inviting the beneficiaries to the school premises.
These dry ration packets consisted of rice, dry fish, dry chillies, green gram, chickpeas, tea leaves, coconut, dhal, etc.
